Mortgage Appraisal Desk (Full-Time)

As an Appraisal Specialist, you will be working at the Appraisal Desk which is tasked to process orders for appraisals from choosing the best appraiser to approving the invoice for payment. It is also tasked to manage the panel of appraisers which includes vetting new ones, setting up their accounts, making sure their license and insurance are current, running background checks and keeping the panel database accurate.

Responsibilities
  • Residential Appraisal Assignment and Vendor Management:
    • Entering and updating appraiser information in the Department's production management system and appraiser database.
    • Processing appraisal order requests from the Loan Teams.
    • Obtaining bids for services from appraisers; selecting and placing orders with appraisers.
    • Communicating assignment conditions to appraisers.
    • Tracking appraisal delivery and working with appraisers and Loan Teams to answer questions, provide updates and ensure timely delivery.
  • Residential Appraisal and Evaluation Quality Control:
    • Examining appraisal reports and evaluations for compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, the Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines, and MBANC's requirements;
    • Communicating with appraisers to resolve report deficiencies;
    • Work with appraisers and Loan Teams to answer questions, provide updates and ensure timely delivery.
  • Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Processing the receipt of appraisals and invoices; performing duties & responsibilities specific to department functions & activities and as assigned by Department heads.
    • Adhering to and complying with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
    • Adhering to Bank policies and procedures,; completing required training; identifying and reporting suspicious activity to the Compliance Officer.
Required Skills
  • General knowledge of mortgage loans, required.
  • Non-QM Experience is a PLUS.
  • General knowledge of appraisals, required.
  • General knowledge of appraisal regulations, required.
  • Previous interactions with appraisers a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong initiative and are detailed-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task; independent.
  • High customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast and high volume department.
  • Must be able to review and analyze data reports and manuals; must be computer proficient.

Responsibilities
  • Deep experience underwriting Jumbo/non-Agency and portfolio loans.
  • Responsible for underwriting residential loans ensuring compliance with appropriate company and investor standards.
  • Analyze appraisal, income, asset and employment source documents. Review submitted loan file data and documents for adherence to investor and lender policies.
  • Data Entry as it relates to Input quality submission and appraisal, income, asset and employment source documentation.
  • Upload loans and necessary conditions to investor if loan requires prior approval by Investor.
  • Perform mortgage credit analysis to determine borrower’s ability to pay.
  • Knowledge of secondary market guidelines to verify data against documentation for income, assets, credit, and property.
  • Review fraud reports and title document system as required, complete checklists and summaries.
  • Maintain service level objectives.
  • Respond to underwriting questions.
  • Other duties as required by management.
Required Skills
  • 5+ year’s experience in manual underwriting or jumbo/non agency loans.
  • Experience with LQB and/or Encompass helpful but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of credit and an ability to review complex financial documents.
  • Ability to make credit recommendations and assess credit worthiness.
  • Ability to meet production, quality and service standards along with providing direct coaching and feedback to ensure quality.
  • Ability to work independently producing results in a timely manner.

Mortgage Closing Specialist (Full-Time)

We are a direct to consumer lender who provides a concierge service from beginning and on. Specializing in Non-QM products, we are heavily investing in people and technology to make a better mortgage experience.

Responsibilities
  • Gather information to prepare and deliver the Closing Disclosure.
  • Analyze and audit data to accurately prepare closing documents to ensure a smooth closing.
  • Review all details of CD against loan conditions and guidelines to ensure all specifics are within allowable parameters.
  • Review Title Commitment to confirm names match Encompass and confirm all parties listed receive CD.
  • Communicate and work with Loan Processor to resolve loan issues when they arise.
  • Proactively manage pipeline of loans to ensure timely delivery of CD, closing package, and funds.
  • Answer calls and emails from Closing Agents, internal team members, and 3rd parties regarding status of loans.
  • Run all required compliance testing, review results, and complete research to address and remediate any failures.
  • Provide immediate support to Closing Agents for CD revisions to prevent delay in loan closing.
  • Work with Closing Agent to verify wiring instructions and disbursement dates.
  • Multi-task, working on numerous loans throughout the day, moving back and forth between multiple responsibilities.
